Often at this time of the year, a honking sound can be heard

high in the sky. The sound rings clean in the calm air, but the

source of the sound remained a mystery until the other day.

I went out to rake some tumble weeds when I heard the honking,

but this time it was close by and coming from more then one

source. I came in and got my cheap digital camera which also

has a video and audio recording capability. The video isn’t so

good, but in the audio you can hear two flocks merging and

their tone definitely changes. Then they get into a V formation

and head off.
